Report: 2003 Brisbane Winter Seed Festival. ‘The words of God are seeds.
Our Seed Festivals are relaxed concert-style evenings where we share original songs and pieces written by families and young people of BCF. Many singers and musicians are involved and pieces are brought in groups of family members and friends. The songs are an expression of the life we have found in the Lord and are sung joyfully without a sense of self-promotion. Our Seed Festivals are open invitation evenings and we invite and encourage friends and family to come and share in the life that we know and love. While the evenings are a joy to host, they are not without hard work
and much ‘behind the scenes’ planning and organisation. This was evident
in the preparations toward the night, which involved around 200 people.
Preparations included music and singing rehearsals, sound and lighting
practices, floral and plant arrangements, audiovisual planning, as well
as the assembling of parking and hosting teams. Again, all involved
were those from BCF – volunteers happy to participate where needed.
It was only because of this willingness that the night was able to proceed
so successfully. It is this ‘behind the scenes’ work that speaks as
much as the night of song itself, of the life that we live – one of
participation in the life of God and a givenness to all those who surround
us. ‘By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another’. John 13:35
